Is anyone using Diatom Algae for sewage treatment and phytoremediation of lakes.
Diatoms give more oxygen than other algae.
Diatoms get consumed by Zooplankton, so do not accumulate.
Diatoms bloom very rapidly when silica and Iron is available.
Diatoms consume N and P like all other plants and algae.
Since they are at the bottom of the food chain, they are in turn consumed by fish. Thus the carbon, N and P in the sewage is converted into fish biomass.
This is the most profitable solution to dealing with sewage and organic pollution in lakes and rivers.
Diatoms bloom so rapidly that they can stop a blue green algae bloom in hours.
They can stop a fish kill due to low DO in hours.
The increase in DO will stop odor in hours.
We cause a controlled bloom of Diatoms using our patented nano silica micro nutrient powder - NUALGI.
