Technology of ionization process.
The main objective was to develop a system of water and air treatment, which would be analogous to the processes taking place in nature. We have succeeded to imitate the natural processes with minimum power consumption. By charging oxygen molecules contained in the air, positively and negatively charged oxygen ions are created. The charged oxygen ions possess the ability to quickly discharge their charge on contact with oxidizable partners in air and water like bacteria and viruses.
As may be seen in the following diagram, operating area is restricted to a relatively small section of chemical reaction. The essence of our development consisted in looking for and identifying the way to utilize such a small section based on a higher oxidizing potential of the active oxygen ions for natural oxidation.
Transformation of the active oxygen ions to only ozone actually takes place very quickly in the presence of high amounts of energy. Since the degrading effects by ozone action are substantially lower than by ionization, we have succeeded with the generation of pure oxygen ions with the development of a new ionization module, eliminating the undesirable course of reaction toward ozone.
The oxygen content available in the ambient air has to be utilized to its maximum to produce oxygen ions in order to achieve an optimal oxidation reaction. This has been achieved by applying different technical parameters as there are voltage and power. Thereby hydrocarbons and similar chemical connections are oxidized fast and effectively. Bacteria skins are split and destroyed by the high oxidation potential of the charged oxygen ions. Solved humine substances belonging to the difficult degradable substances in drinking water are also attacked. We are achieving good results.
In contrast to the ozone production, we need for oxygen ion production substantially less energy. The total energy needed is approx. 0.6 watts per liter of moderately contaminated water. The specific application of positive and negative oxygen ions can also influence the degradation of other substances which are otherwise difficult to oxidize.
Hydrocarbon molecules (CH molecules), when being oxidized with oxygen (O2-ions), form carbon dioxide (CO2) and water (H2O); a process called by chemists as cold burning.
The newly developed ionization process has achieved an extremely high level of oxidizing intensity. With the use of our process we achieve a germ free and odor free air and water.
System is environmentally friendly as no chemical additives are used. At the same time oxygen ions can be dispersed into the environment without hesitation. The positive effect of charged air ions into the environment is described in specialized literature.
The System has been classified by the Physical-chemical faculty of the University of Bremen and the institute for air hygiene (ILH) in Berlin as a futuristic technology and an indispensable part in the area of environmental technology.
The efficiency of the oxygen ions to eliminate bacteria, virus, fungus, smell and bio-film has been proven by several institutes, universities, laboratories and industrial applications in Europe and Thailand.
Systems for water and air sterilization are proven by the physical chemical department of the University of Bremen and the Hermann Rietschel Institute Berlin as a trend-setting technology and as an indispensable component in the sector of future environmental technology.
System development is based on a five-year long Research & Development - supported by the European Union, performed in a close collaboration with the University of Bremen, throughout which more than 4,000 experiments and analyses had been done.
The physical harmlessness in the decontamination of air humidifiers and cooling towers has been tested by the institute of air hygiene in Berlin and by the physical-chemical faculty of the university of Bremen.
Wherever decontaminated air or water is required we will provide a germfree media without the application of chemicals. The use of chemicals or biocides is no more required resulting in an operational cost saving.
Process water can be recycled and re-used reducing the total consumption of water thus reducing operating cost. Waste water can be dispersed into the environment due to its reduction in COD after ionization reducing the need of expensive waste water treatment facilities.
Due to the non corrosive nature ionized air and water will maintain expensive equipment and reduce down time in the production process due to maintenance.
Low operating cost of the ionizer will reduce overall energy consumption of your process in comparison to other decontamination equipment.
Due to the nature of the active ions no blind spots are created thus insuring that the total environment of air or water is maintained germ free. Recontamination of processed equipment or products due to outside influences is reduced considerably.
The positive effect of ions on the human being and their immune system will increase the productivity and reduce the total number of lost days due to illnesses of the staff.
Ionized air will maintain wet rooms and process rooms preventing the build-up of fungus and mould. Redecorating and refurbishing of production rooms can be extended to longer cycles.
The application of oxygen ions in decontamination of air and water is based on the natural process of self purification.
So the Ionization technology is able to support the environment in eliminating harmful substances and pollution.
As a result watercourses like ponds and small lakes can be kept clean.
Applying in the production process in aquaculture, buildings etc. reduces the pollution of air and water thus contributing to the conservation of the environment.
During this process of purification no generation of chemical or antibiotic resistances of bacteria and viruses against oxygen ions occurs.
Another important factor is that the generation of toxic disinfection by-products - as they are for instance produced in disinfection with chlorine - is prevented.
