Yeah...we used to make every day and everywhere a field trip. When they
both hit the high school grades, we did less field trips and got down to
more books. I love to read and had hoped that they would..but noooo! The
younger son is visually impaired and believe it or not, is a "visual"
learner! He does like to read, but not the Literature stuff that he
needs to pass in school. This one will earn his diploma through ABEKA
and the other went on to get his GED to qualify for Tech school....
Well...I am getting unwound for the evening...hope yours is restful!~deb

housework, gardening, egg gathering, bread making etc., so we spent more
time together. We read lots of books together, and explored the fields
(Real Field Trips ... LOL), and went places all together all at the same
time. We did everything in a crowd! LOL By talking about everything
together, I knew how much they knew without formal tests & quizzes.

for one, may or may not work for another. In fact, amongst my own
children, this is a truism. What works for one, may or may not work for
another! My current high schooler actually likes textbooks. I
sometimes wonder if I brought home the wrong baby from the hospital!
LOL (Not really ... she looks just like her sisters!)
