Hey Teresa!I actually think that would overload the computer to put all
that on here! But, I bought a book called "Tan Your Hide"...and I'll
have to go get it to tell you who wrote it. I learned from that. It is
HARD to me..and tedious. I also found a tannery over in NC who does
exotics through a taxidermist locally. They do such better work, I let
them do our bigs ones.We have a website for our cows
(www.whitestarhighlandcattle.com) and on the other services page, you
can see pictures of one of them...and a shoulder mount. We have tanned
several of the Highlander cow hides with hair "on" for plush rugs..and
off er them for sale. Colors are random, though. We have a black getting
ready to go to process and a brindle...but won't tan them unless there
are orders for them.
I also have had the hair removed, the leather dyed and used that for
furniture....I have two awesome old fashioned rockers a nd one ottoman
done with leather from one of our cows and some SW fabric...they are
beautiful!
If I get to it today, I'll posts some pics in the photo section today,
of ya want to see them...~deb
