Where are you located daveandpaula? I am in the NGA mountains. You could
try running an ad in the local paper, of your intentions..to begin a
bartering system. If you establish NOW who can do what and is willing to
take whatever in return, you are waaay ahead of the game when things
grind to a halt! You will have established a circle of people which are
kinda like minded and could be called on in a pinch for help. Just as
you would make yourselves available to them as well. But, don't show all
you have to anyone...no, things of prepping value must be kept on a
"need to know "only basis.
When/if the grid goes, people who you thought were your friends, may not
be. And telling/showing all you know and have could put you and yours in
jeopardy...serious jeopardy, for what you have. Not everyone is
prepping...and they will be more than willing to take what YOU have to
help themselves make it on to the next place. Never, never rule this
out. Be very careful of who and why you share your preps with....~deb

something happen.

around us and, eventhough he grew up on a working farm, he knows next to
nothing about growing food. However, he can fix anything mechanical and
has a desire to learn! So, he comes over whenever he can to learn about
growing his own food, and cooking what he grows. He is going to help
with the bees and help build the chicken coop this spring, also.

have any good ideas for starting a group within a small community for
bartering/trading. There is a website for that purpose, but most of the
things I saw when checking it out were a little out of the scope of what
I had in mind.
