I am so sorry you lost your birds. We also lost some birds this week; 4 broiler birds were butchered in their hut one night. We've been closing them in ever since. Since we listened to two owls calling for three hours the next night, we're pretty sure it was the two of them, and that they were looking for another meal.
While huskies are known to roam, and that can be a pain in the neck, when your dog does it, please don't assume these people were lazy and/or didn't care about their dog. Please try to find them and let them know what happened. It will be their fault, and not yours, but they may spend a long time wondering, otherwise.
We had two sweet Jack Russell terriers. We did everything we could to keep them on our farm, including invisible fencing, microchipping, and crating them and letting only one out at a time. They still managed to get out and, eventually, disappear. We think, because of their condition when they came home one time, that they tangled with something wild and didn't win. But we know that one family kept them for 2 weeks before deciding to call us to come get them. So we don't really know for sure if Woody and Beaker died a quick, violent death, or are curled up on someone else's hearth.
