Re: RE: [vernalpool] The Vernal Pool Salamander Migration Study: Amphibian Roadway Crossing Database

Is there ever concern about identifying specific locations on salamander movements? I would like to believe that this information is being used for the benefit of the species, however, I am afraid that this information can be used, and may already be being used, for the purpose of illegal collecting. Unfortunately, I have seen names I recognize as those that may not always operate within the law; not necessarily collecting, but doing things that may not be to the benefit of the animals we are concerned about.

Thanks.
