I'd like to find out whether folks have observed Big Nights on evenings w/o rain, but when there has been significant precipitation during the previous 24 hours. From my limited experience of three years, I've always observed Big Nights with rainfall. I understand that rainfall in the previous 24 hours has been shown an important variable to migration in Timm et al. (2006) and other studies, but don't know if the same holds true if the ground is still wet but it's not actually raining during the evening and night.
Any help is much appreciated! We may have this weather scenario in the forecast, and I'm uncertain about alerting our crossing scouts.
Thanks,
Laura
