I am not sure about "wrapping" in the field...one would surely want the
meat to hang and bleed out....at least I would. But, two years ago,
someone did exactly this at my SIL's house. The cow had a three day old
calf by her side. They killed, quartered and carried out the rear
quarters, back, with ribs attached and front quarters..only left the
hide, head, legs and innards and by then, dead heifer calf in the field.
So, yes, it can happen...not sure about actually processing it in the
field, but it can happen, I guess.~deb
