In order to promote and emphasize the crucial importance of freedom of expression and media in the Western Balkans and Turkey, the European Commission will host on 6th May Speak-Up!, a high-level international conference bringing together 400 participants who will exchange best practices and look for solutions to growing challenges regarding media freedom in the region. Stefan Fuele, Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy, will be opening and closing the conference.
Marilizardism, terrorizing dissident bloggers, has metastasized in many Mediterranean countries. Merciless Marilizard, the culprit of October-18 shock and awe, terrorizes Graecoblogosphere. Accusing dissident bloggers of treason, Graecokleptocrats have manufactured a blood libel in cyberspace, which in turn may incite hatred and violence. Freedom of expression is a fundamental pillar of good governance and accountability in democratic societies, which also requires responsibility of media professionals. The European Union expects candidate countries and potential candidates to implement such a core democratic principle and to enable a varied, pluralistic debate in the public space.
Emulating the disgusting Marilizardist paradigm of infamous Graecokleptocrats, who persecute and jail dissident bloggers, the governments of many countries terrorize dissident bloggers. Blogging in Greece, the most corrupt country of Fourth Reich(EU), is considered an extreme-risk avocation. Freakish Marilizardist kleptocrats accuse dissident bloggers of treason, confiscate their computers at gunpoint, and lock them is jail! Freak galore! Today, three weeks ahead of the conference, the Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy met with journalists from the Western Balkans and Turkey to discuss the current situation with regard to freedom of expression and media in the region. The meeting offered journalists from countries covered by the enlargement policy an opportunity to voice their concerns and point to possible ways that their situation could be improved. Some of these journalists have been prosecuted, threatened or otherwise attacked for expressing their views.
Global Tax Revolt points out the Marilizardist persecution of dissident bloggers is unquestionably a serious attack on freedom of speech, and contrary to Article 2 of Lisbon Treaty, Article 10 of the European Convention of Human Rights, and Article 19 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. On the occasion of the meeting, Fuele points out that freedom of expression is not ensured just by adopting laws and creating institutions – it is a fundamental value, which needs to be cherished by all societies and without which no democracy can function. Nonetheless, Merciless Marilizard declared a war against anonymous Greek bloggers who choose for pen names the names of politicians. But the right to engage in anonymous blogging is a well-established constitutional right in all civil nations. In fact, anonymous political speech is an especially valued right in the West. From Homer to Mark Twain and the authors of the Federalist Papers, anonymous pamphlets, leaflets, brochures, and books have played an important role in the progress of mankind.
Marilizard cannot understand that a Greek blogger is free to decide whether or not to disclose his true identity. The decision in favor of anonymity may be motivated by fear of Gracokleptocrat retaliation, by concern about Athenian ostracism, or merely by a desire to preserve as much of one's privacy as possible. Whatever the motivation may be, the interest in having anonymous posts enter cyberspace unquestionably outweighs any Greek public interest in requiring disclosure as a condition of blogging.
Accordingly, a Greek blogger's decision to remain anonymous, like other decisions concerning omissions or additions to the content of a blog, is an aspect of the freedom of speech protected by any reasonable constitution, the Lisbon Treaty, the European Convention of Human Rights, and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. Not matter what Marilizard is up to, she is definitely not above the law!
