I had A. toads calling two weeks ago down here in Easton (one town over
from Taunton). In previous years I've seen them out and about this time
of year in this general location.

I heard some American Toads calling last week in a pool near Taunton,
and saw some breeding activity. Here's a picture of some toad amplexus
and what I think is a fleeing fairy shrimp:

I know I'm from farther up north, but isn't it a bit early for these
guys to be out down here? I'm not ready for it to be toad season yet!
