When we lived in NC my neighbor had one of the well buckets, they work well and with a pulley system are not that had to use. Both of us were living without Elec at the time and we got much of our water this way. I am not sure how hard it would be to use if a elec pump is already installed on your well. I know when we had to have the one we have now (elec) worked on a few years ago it was a trip to drag the existing system out of the well to work on it. That water is heavy! We hired someone to do it.

I fill with spring water, and another one I fill with rain water for irrigation.
