We have to secede now from Fourth Reich, because later we might not be able to do it. Do not forget what happened to CSA. The Confederate States of America (CSA) was a confederation of eleven Southern states that had declared their secession from 1861 to 1865. But USA rejected secession as illegal, and used military action to defeat CSA.
The Lisbon Treaty is Eurokleptocracy's Pyrrhic victory. It created a confederation, Fourth Reich, without a popular foundation. EU lacks legitimacy among Europeans. Eurokleptocrats created a situation where the citizens of slave States live their lives with a resigned feeling that the EU project is not their own.

Greenland was the first country to secede from Fourth Reich. The Lisbon Treaty introduces a secession clause. A slave State may notify the Fourthreichian Council that it wishes to secede, upon which secession negotiations begin; if no other agreement is reached, the hateful Lisbon Treaty ceases to apply to the seceding State two years after such notification.
Fourthreichian monetary unification is the Trojan horse for overall harmonization of economic rules, policies, and laws in Fourth Reich. Any eurozone problem is interpreted as a consequence of the lack of harmonization and leads to another wave of a creeping harmonization. Because the sovereign countries formed the federation, they hold the final authority regarding the limits of the power of the federal government. The member countries and not the Federal Bench are the ultimate interpreters of the extent of the federal government's power. Nullification grants the right to secession, by which a country terminates its political affiliation with the federation.
The financial crisis underscores the difficulty of having a monetary union without true fiscal union. Given the limited budget authority of the European institutions, they are not yet in a position to respond effectively to such a crisis. Compounding this problem, PIGS take risky fiscal decisions and free ride on the backs of North Fourth Reich.
Nullification declares that member countries of a federation must judge the constitutionality of the acts of their agent, the federal government, since no impartial arbiter between them exists. When the federal government exercises a particularly dangerous power not delegated to it, the countries must refuse to allow its enforcement within their borders. Nullification defies the unexamined premise of the entire political spectrum, according to which society must be organized with a single, irresistible power center issuing infallible commands from the top.

Fuehrer Merkozy does not understand that downsizing a country makes a lot of sense. Small is beautiful and efficient. The best State is the city-state. A city-state is an independent country whose territory consists of a city. The city-states of ancient Greece, such as Athens, Sparta, Thebes, and Corinth, have shown that the smaller the state, the better it is. The ideal limit is the one-person state, aka anarchy!
The Principality of Monaco is an independent city-state. Monaco-Ville, the ancient fortified city and Monaco's well-known area Monte Carlo are districts of a continuous urban zone, not distinct cities. Singapore is an island city-state in Southeast Asia. About 5 million people live and work within 700 square kilometres, 270 sq miles. Vatican City is a landlocked sovereign city-state whose territory consists of a walled enclave within the city of Rome.

The issue which bothers Vaclav Klaus most is the accelerating move towards global governance, even more dramatically towards European governance, which means towards the weakening of the traditional pillar of democracy – of the nation states. The fact that similar problems occur in many countries does not mean that they are global and that they should be solved and avoided by using less of markets and more of governments. The unstoppable and basically positive internationalization of human activities doesn't ask for centralistic solutions. We have many reasons to be afraid of governance, both domestic and global.
Klaus asserts the solution of the pressing problems of our era doesn't lie in creating new governmental and supranational agencies. It is also not about the technicalities of these solutions. It is about democracy and democracy needs demos, democracy needs citizens and citizenship – without them democracy cannot be constituted.
