I was wondering tho if you can put both zote and fels in same batch? Or the same with octagon and fels or zote! So there is the 2 differant soaps in there! I guess I wouldn't see why not but was wondering if you could or if anyone has and if they did how it worked! Thanks for all your help! Judi in NC

Hi Judi,
I've never used zote, but I do substitute Octagon for Fels Naptha. Sometimes I use all Octagon, sometimes I mix it half and half. I see no reason why you can't substitute. Some people use Ivory Soap. I think it is just a matter of choice. Recipes for laundry soap in the book I mentioned over the weekend uses liquid castile soap or a pure bar soap.
Make half or even 1/4 of the recipe. Try that, if you don't like it, do the same thing with another soap. For me, experimenting is the fun part of making home made products.

Eunice, back to the laundry soap, can a person do half the amount of fels naptha
ubstituted with zote! So it would be 1/2 C. Zote and 1/2 C. Fels naptha! Has
ny one ever tried that! Thanks! Judi in NC
