I agree, quality is lacking in most stores. We shop the clearance racks at
big department stores so that we don't battle this as much but there are
still times we have to deal with this.
We find the best quality and values come off of the Macy's clearance rack.
This goes for the kids' shirts, dresses, things like that. Very high
quality and if you are shopping out of season, prices are even better. Our
dd 4 has a four dresses for winter all from Macy's and I paid a little over
$3 a piece for them. I've done this for years and the kids end up with some
very nice clothing!
My husband will only wear Wrangler Cowboy Cut jeans. We have been buying
them for years and we haven't seen anything different or change in them.
Still the same great quality they have always been. Plus, they run about
$22 a pair and he gets at least a year out of them if he uses them as work
jeans and a couple years out of them when he wears them for "church" jeans.
As far as tennis shoes go, we are all pretty hard on shoes. Asics seem to
last the longest for all of us. Made in China unfortunately but at least
they last a bit. We buy them all on clearance or from places like Sierra
Trading Post. Saves money and they last a long time.

Subject: [Homesteadingfamily] Quality
Recently I have been having a terrible time finding quality items. For
instance I have some L.L. Bean shirts in my closet that have been excellent.
This past week I ordered a new one the same size. To tight in the elbow
area, the shoulders and chest. I have bought from The Territory Ahead, same
problems.
Shoes, now that is a really crazy thing. There are hardly any that aren't
made in China anymore.
Are all of you having the same problems?
What goods have you found that are consistent? So often the second time I am
disappointed.
We are all spending good money and our purchases should be good buys.
Regards, Ninja
