[Homesteadingfamily] Introduction

 

Just wanted to say "hello" and offer a bit of an introduction. My hubby, Mel and I are retired....although I don't think one can actually be retired and keep livestock, a garden and an new orchard. LOL The only reason I'm sitting still now is because we are getting some much needed rain. Yea! We live in NE Texas about 90 miles NE of Dallas, out in the middle of nowhere. Which we love. vbg

We are organic and we raise and butcher all our own meat (beef, chicken and goat). We just finished cutting, grinding, and wrapping a whole beef. Really glad that is done! We are trying to be as self-sufficent as possible. This also allows us to be able to provide meat to family members too. Working on expanding the garden right now and planting cooler weather veggies.
We aren't rich but we are happy. :)
