[vernalpool] Am. toads and Pickerel frogs

 

I heard American toads in Wilmington, MA this afternoon and again in
Acton this evening. I also heard Pickerel frogs tonight. I've been
keeping track of the Acton location and the pickerel frogs and Am. toads
are over one month earlier than last year, but 14 days ahead of 2010,
and about 3 weeks ahead of 2008 and 2009.

Wood frogs were calling and we found some fresh eggs near the top of
Wachusett Mountain today. This is 2-4 weeks ahead of most previous years.

Can't wait until I have 100 years of data, then it will really get
interesting!
