Hello.
An excellent dog & cat rescue group I volunteer for is needing a donation of clean, dry newspaper (preferably with the sales inserts removed if possible) in order to care for all the dogs that they have been taking in lately. (I contacted the Orlando Sentinel hoping to get their left over newspapers but they can no longer give them out due to contractual agreements with recycling companies they use.)
This rescue group named A New Beginning Pet Care & Rescue, Inc sets up at the Petsmart in Altamonte Springs (zipcode 32714 if you want to mapquest it) which is off of Hwy 434 about a 1/2 west of Hwy 436 not too far from the Walmart. They are normally there between 11 am and 5 pm on Saturdays and Sundays though on occassion will not have enough volunteers available to take the newspaper so they do need to know it is coming ahead of time if at all possible.
They ask that you phone their main number; (407) 251-5458 a day or two ahead at the least so that they can confirm they will be available and able to accept the newspaper on the day you may want to deliver it. If you have a large amount of newspaper you can donate, please definitely call the main phone number so that a volunteer from the group can do their best to arrange to meet with you and to obtain the newspaper preferably loading it directly in to one of their vehicles. Depending on your location and the amount of newspaper available, they may be able to work out coming to you to pick it up.
Thanks for anyone that can help. There's a lot of breeder dumps and owner abandonments going on and lots of puppies are involved at times so any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Any other supplies (towels, blankets, pads, collars, leashes, food, treats, toys, etc.) you might have laying around and would like to donate would also be very appreciated!
