I found 3 female four-toed salamanders each in a different forested
swamp in southern Merrimack County, NH yesterday (5/9/12). The eggs
appeared early in development and each nest accompanied by 1 female.
I have never surveyed this particular site for four-toeds before, so I'm
not sure how this date compares to other years. I expect this is early
for this part of New Hampshire.
