I emailed Mr. Merrow's question on to Norfolk County Mosquito Control, and this the reply I got, so am forwarding along..............
Janet DeLonga, Holbrook
It is difficult to know exactly what Mr. Merrow might be interested in finding out about. He may be referring to the state run aerial application targeting adult mosquitoes and/or adult and/or larval (both ground and aerial) mosquito control efforts made by any 1 of the 9 districts in MA? Speaking only on behalf of Norfolk County Mosquito Control District, currently we use Duet to combat adult mosquitoes via truck mounted ULV applications. We provide the public with info/descriptions of all of products we use on our website (below). We're happy to answer any specific questions regarding the exact application he may be interested in finding out about. He can contact us directly or the state if his questions involve the state run aerial applications using Anvil.

Adult Mosquito Control
The adulticide currently used by the NCMCD is sumithrin (with prallethrin), under the trade name DuetTM (Label, MSDS). It is a synthetic pyrethroid which mimics pyrethrin (or pyrethrum), a naturally derived plant chemical from the chrysanthemum flower. Pyrethroids offer the distinct advantage over pyrethrin in that it is more stable in sunlight and the current generation is 50x as effective, meaning less material is needed to effectively control mosquitoes and disease.

Each product undergoes very strict testing before it can be licensed for use. Non-target effects are part of this testing and we rely on these companies and procedures to offer us effective products that are very specific to our target species, the mosquito. We also visually inspect treatment areas to look for any visible issues. Again, feel free to have him contact us directly with specific questions and we will do our best to answer them for him or point him in the right direction.

Subject: [vernalpool] Mosquito spraying
Hi all - Has anyone looked into what specifically is being sprayed to
combat West Nile Virus and EEE, and implications for amphibians or other
non-target species? Thanks.
