Hello everyone,
Got into a conversation with one of the wildlife biologists at Montezuma
NWR. The subject was tunnels under roads for wildlife or ecopassages.
Montezuma has a problem with wildlife movement from the various pools
because a major highway divides it. Road kill can be rather high at times,
especially among turtles
So I'm doing some research for the Refuge on the best way to go about
building tunnels that:
1. Are relatively inexpensive (limited budget)
2. Have a proven track record (they work)
3. Possible reuse of materials (lane barriers)
Or to look at it from different angle, what to avoid using or what types
proved to be failures
Thanks
Phillip Bonn
