You would want to test for chloride and sodium to get a good idea about the road salt. In order to get a good accurate reading, i recommend taking a sample to a lab and having them run the ions. UMass will do that through a couple of their labs. We've directed folks to Dr. Chul Park's lab for both anions and cations.
