Amy, mine was a beautiful dark golden brown in less than 2 months, but
may can be used sooner. The more I shake it the more it develops in
strength, it seems to me. I wanted a really rich flavor, so I left it
for the two months before I began dipping into it! The smell is a slight
alcohol smell, but the taste in baked goods is divine! I may try some
more beans in bourbon...see if it is a better flavor or just to have for
something different.
Those beans that Jeanne got on EBAY was sure a deal! The ones I got from
top vanilla were vacuum sealed and very pungent and fresh. As soon as I
opened them, the room began to smell of vanilla! Regardless where you
get the beans, you want them from Madagascar or India and FRESH. Good
