Hi Cathy:It was not my intention to "implicate" anything about the WPF(
I have no idea where you got the meat industry into this by my comments)
...and I am well aware of "who and what" they are. I have known of Sally
Fallon (she is remarried now) for years. And she DOES have her agenda.
Now, I agree with most of the WPF talking points..I do eat grass fed
meat and drink raw milk, but not because I was "taught" by WPF. I
researched this years before this organization was established and chose
this lifestyle to raise our family. I also agree wholly with their
points on soy and we are soy free in this house..but again, not because
of what they teach (push)...it was from my own research into soy.
Weston Price had some good findings in his years of dentistry...but he
was a DENTIST, not a nutritional expert. This organization has built
its' "membership" going beyond what Price originally found...and almost
into activism. It is all about choices and moderation and that is what
we teach in our home...and that is all I was implying.
My point was, that ANYTHING or ANY KIND of sweeteners must be used in
moderation to be healthy, even honey, which we love and use..raised here
by ourselves. The agave brand that I mentioned is the one we choose to
use after much research into it, in MODERATION. I like the light taste
of it and it indeed does have a lower glycemic index number than most
other sweeteners. I was not trying to give Weston a black eye....nor
their association (he did not start it, it was started years after his
death from his ideas). Not all agave is "highly processed byproducts
from tequila production"....although some of the inferior brands may be.
Just as other sweeteners..like honey for example. Some people adulterate
it with spun sugars and heat it to high temps, yet say it is "natural".
One must do the research or raise it oneself to be absolutely "sure" of
what they are getting.thanks!~deb
