[vernalpool] Re: Info about salamander movement

Spotted sals were moving in the Middlesex Fells last night, but not in any large numbers. I observed two in a pool east of Spot Pond. Another group of observers spotted five. The rain had stopped by the time that I had arrived, but I believe there may have been a brief period of rain later in the evening. There is not much snow left on the ground, but there is a fair amount of ice cover on some of the pools in that area as well as on trails. Tread carefully.
