[vernalpool] Cape Cod spotted salamanders

 

I have been monitorig a vernal pool on the Upper Cape for seveal years. I have seen very little movement this year, which is not a surprise as it has been cold and dry at the site.  I am wondering if others on the Cape have had better luck.  Also, have you observed major migrations of salamanders into the pools this late in the season?  It doesn't look like we will have rain again for several days; by then it will be 10-14 days later than I have ever previously recorded a major migration into this pool.
