Hi all,
I checked my local vernal pools yesterday afternoon, and observed no adults,
eggs, or even calls of any amphibians. But it rained most of the day
yesterday, and at 9:15 last night I stopped down to check things out. The
temp. was 53 degrees. Eleven spotted salamanders completely blocked the
road from farther driving! THere were wood frogs crossing too. Hope to get
out tonight for a road survey with some kids.
