Attleboro and, from what I hear, Easton were quiet, too. Take the Attleboro note with a grain of salt, though, as the habitat is severely compromised and may not actually support legitimate mole salamander populations anymore. Regardless, it was 32F and snowing during much of the evening.
I did not search for amphibians on-the-move elsewhere, but I did capture almost a dozen spotted salamanders and a half-dozen blue-spotted salamanders at 2 of 3 proximate vernal pools in Westboro this morning. Not sure whether the animals moved to the pools last night or had already been in there.
Let's hope for some better amphibian weather next week!
