Last night in Holden I walked up and down the road for 30 minutes,
looking for travellers to the vernal pool opposite my house. Result: 16
wood frogs, only two females, 3 spring peepers, one red back salamander,
but no spotted. No road kill, but the road is little used. In previous
years we've grown tired of counting spotteds - perhaps they crossed
earlier, or last night wasn't wet enough.
