Welcome aboard. I tend to stay silent. Whereabouts in western VA? My SO was from the Warm Springs area. We are currently in the U.P. of Michigan in a rural area, which we love. Pace of life so much slower. Big cities here are more like small cities outside metropolitan areas. Largest city has less than 30,000 (and this is near the university only).

I would love to learn more about it.I grew up in the mountains of Western Va hunting and camping and backpacking. I am very good at taking care of myself in wilderness situations even though I was from the city. I recently had a complete breakdown from doing the job of three people in my last job. The pressure was enormous. I was the only electronics engineer in the company. I wound up in a state mental institution for over a month just to half way recuperate. I can not keep living in this world of pressure. I need to completely change back to the good old days when life was hard work but simple. I hope to meet others like me and to learn what they do and learn more about self sufficient living in a day that Gov wants to make you conform to their funneled mold of society. Thank you.
