I am cheap alot of people in my area sell for 10 dollars a piece or 5 dollars a pound.  Agree with everything said below if it wasnt for the fact I didnt pay myself for the labor I couldnt break even

-8 foot of cages (4 cages, one adult rabbit per cage): $115.00.

-Building to put rabbits in: $1,800.00 (houses 50 rabbits including babies.)

-Rest of the "stuff" that goes with a cage: about $10.00 per cage.

-Food to raise one rabbit to 10 weeks (meat rabbit butchering age): $2.00.

-Time to feed and water 50 rabbits: about 30-45 minutes per day if NOTHING else is needed.

-Time to butcher, clean, skin and package one rabbit: about 15 minutes.

BTW, Its worth every minute and every dollar! Tons of fun and a barrel of laughs.

Why are they so expensive!!!

I LOVE rabbit~ but have only had it when it was done by a home butcher.
