Anonymous announces that its Antisec movement hacked and defaced Turkish government websites again today, in protest against new Internet filtering rules that come into force in the country in August. Anonymous is an internet meme representing the concept of myriad netizens simultaneously existing as an anarchic digitized global brain against kleptocracy and marilizardism.
The concept has been adopted by a decentralized on-line community acting anonymously in a coordinated manner to lock horns with kleptocrats and marilizardists. The group said it released data from about a hundred websites in Turkey, and put up its logo and message on some eighty websites, criticizing what it described as greater control over the Internet in Turkey, including blocks on thousands of websites and blogs. Kleptocracy and marilizardism are anathema to Turks.
The hacks released are part of a Turkish Takedown action planned by the group. Its Antisec program targets governments, law enforcement, gray wolves, and cybercops. Marilizardism has metastasized in Turkey. Marilizardism is the cancer of cyberspace. There is a great need for bloggers who value rights and freedoms to work in concert across borders, as marilizardists persist in persecuting dissident bloggers who challenge abuse of power. While brave and determined bloggers claim their rights and freedoms, governments seek to evade scrutiny and accountability. That's where Anonymous moves in to protect bloggers.
Turks abhor kleptocracy and marilizardism. Turks took to the streets in May to protest against the new filtering scheme, which plans to introduce four levels of filtering - family, children, domestic, or standard - for Internet users by August 22. While protestors describe the rules as mandatory, the government has said they are optional filters for the protection of families.
According to La Quadrature du Net (QN), it is impossible to effectively control the flow of information in the digital age without harming public freedoms and damaging economic and social development. The standard Anonymous cyber attacks consist of DDS, Distributed Denial of Service, on the internet network of a marilizardist organization, using a coordinated network of Low Orbit Ion Canons (LOICs). Such attacks are an orchestrated attempt to make the infosystem unavailable to marilizardists. This way, the whole information network of the marilizardist abuser is paralyzed for several hours!
Anonymous last month launched DDS attacks on some Turkish government websites in protest against the proposed filtering rules. Among the sites that were attacked were that of the Internet regulator, Telekomunikasyon Iletisim Baskanligi. Turkey responded last month by arresting 32 persons said to be involved in the attacks on the government sites. Earlier this week, carabinieri arrested 15 people in Italy for their alleged involvement in Anonymous attacks.
In Greece, Anonymous might attack the Cyber Crime Unit(CCU), the Grand Brothel on Syntagma Square, the Maximum Corruption Mansion, the brutal police headquarters, and all ministries OF the October-18 Mafia, especially the Citizen Pseudoprotection Ministry.
DDS is an act of peaceful protest on the internet. The activity is no different than sitting peacefully in front of the office of a kleptocrat. DDS is like the traditional forms of protest. Regardless of how many times marilizardists are told, they refuse to understand there are no leaders of Anonymous. Arresting somebody for taking part in a DDS attack is exactly like arresting somebody for attending a peaceful demonstration in their hometown. Anonymous believes this right to peacefully protest is one of the fundamental pillars of any democracy. Anonymous has no members and it's not a group of any kind. Kleptocrats who accuse anons are providing Anonymous with the fuel and must expect the fire.
