A new well pump, combo wind and solar, with some sort of backup battery (I
think that can be done). An above ground cistern/'water tower' helps too.
Means you have water stored for when you don't have wind/solar to run the
pump.

Subject: [Homesteadingfamily] suggestions plz
I normally read the conversations but today I need imput from the group on a
tricky issue. We live out in the country, on the grid(sad to say), but
would like to start moving away from it. That being said my first big issue
is getting water out of the well without using the electric pump we
currently use, no pun intended. We have a generator but it doesn't take of
the situation when we lose power. So now I need the power of the group,
what do you think.
