We had an interesting recommendation from my son who's employer operates a warehouse building. One of the tenants there is a restaurant supplier that sells rice in 100 lb bags. This is restaurant-quality, good stuff. My son invited me to come down and take a look and I also noticed that they have 100 pound bags of pinto beans! After talking to the owner, my son was able to get me BOTH bags (at cost or about) for just a shade over $75.00! 200 pounds of dried food for less than $100.00 is a steal in my book.
We brought them home and sectioned them off into vacuum bags and stored in plastic bins. One bag fits into a sealed container in our pantry. We don't have a bunch of extra space, but we'll FIND room for that!
I have checked with them but they were unwilling to do the same thing for some friends of ours. Unfortunate...
