Hi y'all. I am new to the group and fairly new to the whole idea of homesteading. We have begun our journey with a small farm now but just purchased an additional 65 acres to really go at this full force (:
We have a small kitchen garden, fruit trees and a small vineyard to start. We also currently raise rabbits and a few chickens for meat and eggs.
My question for the group is about goats. We would like to have a small herd but not sure what kind to start with. I know Nubians are good for meat as well as milk but I had heard of a smaller breed that are more managable and don't try to "escape" as much. They are not Pygmy but something in between the two.
Anyone know what I am referring to? I would love to know more.
Thanks for any input (:
Happy Homesteading,
Laura~
