Have you noticed the price of fruit in the stores lately? How about planting some small fruits? Plant enough berries, grapes, rhubarb, etc., for your family's needs as well as some extra to sell. A lot of them don't have to be replanted every year, and there are some that can be planted by getting cuttings from other people. A flock of chickens could supply eggs for the family and fertilizer for the garden as well as eventually meat for the table. Some people sell the chickie doodoo as fertilizer. Then there is the possibility of raising worms and selling the castings (doodoo) for fertilizer, worms for fishbait/animal feed or to others who are wanting to raise worms. Your chickens will like them as treats, too. These are things I've been studying on the Internet.
