I think that the peepers will start calling again, we have had some pretty cool days lately after the introduction to summer. It has been a weird spring so far. I wonder about the eggs in your pool - that does seem pretty weird that they would all be gone, certainly predation is one possibility, collection is one too. That would be a lot of eggs for someone to collect though! And for what? If you figure out that mystery, let us know.
