I was finding fresh spermatophores and very fresh Spotted Salamander egg masses last Tuesday in the Chesterfield/Cummington/Goshen area -- even a few fresh Wood Frog egg masses, too. That wave of breeding was presumably triggered by a small amount of rain the previous Saturday. I also saw some adult individuals of both species in the pools. So, at least in western MA, I would expect some continued breeding.
