I'm sorry to hear this!!!! I remember having a fox! though, they kill to
store and eat~ the dogs usually just kill to kill~
I like the name Phoenix for a chicken!
Your husband had every right to kill that dog! In most states it is a
felony for a human to kill livestock and that includes chickens (just ask
hubby's cousin! LOL) and when an animal is killing livestock, they are to
be shot on sight!
I had super free range chickens, but they stayed in their coop at night~
its what saved them! they would lay in there, and then come back to roost
at night! a good door is a MUST! It doesn't stop all predators though...
I love chickens, and cant wait to get some of my own again! I used to have
40!
