Hi Rosemary,
I live in Acton and have been trying to find good places to go to see spotted
salamanders. Where is the CCC (Concord Country Club?) parking lot? Is it over
by Emerson Hospital? Or is it some other place altogether? And are there any
particular side roads that you would recommend?

Hi there,

I popped down to Concord tonight and went to the CCC parking lot for the first
time. I also roamed down a few side roads. There were many spotted salamanderes
(I stopped counting at a dozen), all males, as well as a wood frog who was very
fat with eggs, and two leopard frogs. There was a huge variation in maculatum
spottiness that was really neat to see :)
